Job Description

The Learning Systems & Design Program Manager serves as the organization’s learning design architect, responsible for building, governing, and continuously improving the systems, frameworks, and instructional standards that support enterprise learning and development. This role translates learning strategy into structured, scalable, and measurable learning experiences, ensuring learning content, curriculum architecture, and delivery standards are cohesive, high quality, and aligned to business priorities, role expectations, and cultural values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the architect of the organization’s learning design framework, ensuring consistency, quality, and scalability across all learning initiatives
  • Design and maintain structured, role-based learning pathways aligned to frontline and field roles, leadership and management roles, and functional and specialist roles
  • Apply instructional design best practices to ensure learning is performance- and capability-driven, aligned to clear role expectations and outcomes, delivered through effective blended learning approaches, and reinforced through practical application and real-world execution
  • Lead the design and development of learning materials, including digital learning modules, facilitator and participant guides, job aids, playbooks, and performance support tools
  • Partner with subject matter experts to translate complex information into clear, engaging, and effective learning experiences
  • Establish and maintain instructional design standards, templates, and content guidelines to ensure consistency across programs
  • Support enterprise learning initiatives tied to leadership development, operational excellence, compliance and risk mitigation, and organizational change and integration
  • Design learning components that support business transformations, system changes, and evolving operating models
  • Own the structure, governance, and optimization of the organization’s Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Define and enforce standards for learning content governance, including content lifecycle management, version control and quality assurance, access and permission management, and user experience and system usability

Requirements

  • Expertise in instructional design and adult learning principles
  • Experience in designing and developing learning materials, including digital learning modules, facilitator and participant guides, job aids, playbooks, and performance support tools
  • Knowledge of learning management systems and experience with LMS administration
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner with subject matter experts and stakeholders
  • Expertise in at least one area of eLearning – video production, podcast production, learning game development or graphic design
