Job Description

Schwazze is seeking a Category Manager, CPG to drive sales growth, margin performance, and customer experience across assigned cannabis product categories. The successful candidate will own assortment strategy, pricing, promotions, vendor partnerships, and category performance analytics, ensuring each category aligns with brand positioning and business objectives. This role requires a data-driven, commercially minded leader who can translate consumer insights and market trends into actionable merchandising strategies across multiple dispensary locations and banners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end category strategy for assigned categories
  • Develop data-led growth recommendations based on sales trends, margin performance, mix shifts, and customer behavior
  • Establish and maintain Good / Better / Best or tiered category frameworks aligned to brand strategy
  • Identify opportunities to improve volume, margin dollars, and turns through assortment and pricing optimization
  • Partner with merchandising and finance teams to develop category pricing strategies
  • Plan and execute promotional calendars
  • Analyze promotional effectiveness and ROI
  • Lead SKU rationalization and new item onboarding
  • Serve as the category subject matter expert, leveraging POS data, loyalty insights, vendor data, and third-party market data
  • Track and report on KPIs including sales, margin %, margin dollars, mix, turns, and promo lift
  • Build strong partnerships with key vendor partners
  • Collaborate closely with operations, marketing, supply chain, and store teams
