Merchandising Analyst

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and support the backend data infrastructure for merchandising and retail reporting
• Analyze sales, margin, inventory, and promotional performance across categories to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities
• Partner closely with Category Managers to support SKU rationalization, category strategy execution, and new item launches
• Evaluate vendor performance, pricing changes, cost structures, and promotional activity using standardized scorecards and metrics
• Support process improvement and tool development to standardize and continuously improve merchandising reporting, analytical tools, and workflows

Requirements

• Ability to gather data and provide critical performance insights at an executive level
• Understanding of product performance assessment, shelf space value analysis, identification of dying products, and recommendations for category gaps and benchmarking demand
• Experience with data management and system support, including data migration, normalization, and validation efforts
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor communication style and level of detail to audience
