Security Officer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Secure premises by patrolling the facility, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points, and ensuring doors and gates are locked and secure
• Monitor surveillance equipment, detect tampering, troubleshoot malfunctions, and adjust equipment as needed
• Conduct routine checks and maintenance of security systems and evaluate new equipment and techniques to enhance security
• Monitor and authorize the entrance and departure of individuals, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
• Investigate and report irregular activity to the Security Manager or local police, and respond promptly to all alarms
• Complete and submit detailed incident reports promptly, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established policies
• Safely and securely transport deliveries to authorized dispensary organizations and patients, ensuring receipt is registered appropriately
• Operate vehicles in compliance with state and local guidelines, ensuring the safety and security of transported items
• Assist with maintaining a courteous and professional environment for team members, customers, and visitors
• Support emergency response efforts, including sounding alarms or notifying appropriate authorities in the event of an incident

Requirements

• Strong computer skills
• 2 year degree or an equivalent combination of experience and education
• 5+ years of experience in Law Enforcement and/or Public Safety preferred
• 3+ years experience in a similar role
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check under cannabis regulations
• Current valid driver’s license required
• Positive and approachable attitude, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members
• Commitment to excellence and operational efficiency
• Must be flexible to meet scheduling needs and respond to onsite incidents as needed
