Packaging Manager

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for day-to-day operations and performance of the packaging department
• Oversees, maintains, and partners with facility maintenance to troubleshoot packaging automation equipment
• Creates compliance labels and works with quality teams to ensure all details are accurate and in compliance with state laws and industry standards
• Utilizes state and company-mandated seed-to-sale software systems to maintain accurate inventory records
• Conducts routine physical inventory audits on pre-roll biomass, bulk pre-rolls, and product in 'work-in-progress' stages
• Recognizes areas of opportunity improving safety, product quality, food safety, cost, productivity, and employee morale
• Works with operations to ensure all KPIs are being met or exceeded
• Coaches the packaging team using established performance measures to achieve designated objectives and deliver results to the business

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Logistics, Operations, or another related field preferred
• 5+ years' experience in Packaging, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain leadership
• Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment preferred; Cannabis experience a plus
• Familiarity with compliance requirements related to cannabis packaging
• Demonstrated success in leading and mentoring large teams
• Ability to train, coach, and develop staff while maintaining high performance and morale
• Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing processes preferred
