Job Description

The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the Maintenance Supervisor in ensuring the safety, functionality, and upkeep of the facility and company assets. This role requires strong knowledge of mechanical systems, greenhouse operations, and building maintenance. The Lead Maintenance Technician helps minimize operational downtime by performing and coordinating maintenance activities, supporting farm operations, and maintaining compliance with state marijuana regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of facility buildings to identify and resolve issues
  • Schedule and assign maintenance and repair tasks to maintenance staff
  • Ensure maintenance teams have the necessary tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Coordinate with external vendors for inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs
  • Implement and maintain Maintenance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), reviewing annually
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with evaluating cost estimates and presenting options
  • Provide weekly progress and employee tracking reports
  • Maintain inventory of equipment, filters, and general supplies; reorder as needed
  • Support other departments with facility-related maintenance needs
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness and operational functionality of facility grounds and buildings
  • Communicate ongoing maintenance activities to affected staff
  • Ensure bottled drinking water is stocked in all required areas
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience in a related industry or work environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Experience in a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Professional and respectful communication skills
  • Proven mechanical and building maintenance capability
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills
