Journeyman Plumber

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Install and assemble pipes, fittings, valves, and fixtures for various systems
• Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on plumbing equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics
• Cut, thread, bend, solder, braze, and weld pipes using hand and power tools
• Conduct pressure tests and inspections to ensure proper function and compliance
• Follow strict safety protocols when working with hazardous materials or high-pressure systems
• Collaborate with other trades and maintain accurate records of work performed

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school or apprenticeship preferred
• 10+ years of experience in industrial or commercial plumbing at a journeyman or master level
• Valid driver's license, state/county Journeyman or Master Plumbing License, and certifications such as backflow prevention
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
• Physical stamina to lift heavy materials, work in awkward positions, and tolerate various weather conditions
