Job Description

TerrAscend is seeking an experienced Cash Application Specialist to provide daily and monthly cash activity reconciliations, month end close support, balance sheet reconciliation, and process improvement in line with TerrAscend’s standard operating procedures. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in business or accounting and 1 to 2 years of progressive accounting experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists the Manager - Cash in driving the Month-End Close process for multiple entities
  • Participates in daily cash accounting department tasks
  • Monitor, record, and report on daily bank account activities including cash, debit card, and other deposits
  • Run reports from point-of-sale systems, debit card portals, and other payment portals
  • Reconcile all activities to bank accounts
  • Prepares appropriate journal entries for bank and retail store cash transactions
  • Ensures completeness and accuracy of all assigned accounts, databases, and files
  • Collaborate with the various accounting teams, the store managers, other internal departments and 3rd parties
  • Partner with accounts payable department, accounts receivable department and finance department regarding bank and cash activity and general ledger coding questions
  • Perform tasks, such as database collection of sales data, and bank data collections of activity as assigned
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
  • Responds timely to inquiries from external and internal customers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in business or accounting preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Public accounting experience, as well as corporate accounting experience preferred
  • Manufacturing and/or Retail experience preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience or exposure to all areas of cash accounting
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficient within overall Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-starter that places an emphasis on accuracy, completeness, and work product ownership
  • Professional written and verbal communication with multiple levels and departments
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and honest
