Automation Mechanical Technician

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect automated machinery, equipment, and systems to identify issues and ensure functionality
• Calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on various types of electrical and mechanical equipment
• Prioritize and self-schedule maintenance work around production activities
• Ensure quality standards are always met
• Assist in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of automated systems according to specifications
• Collaborate with senior technicians and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues
• Conduct routine maintenance and quality checks on automated systems to uphold standards
• Assist in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance procedures
• Assist in planning and scheduling repairs and maintenance tasks
• Maintain accurate inventory records for equipment and supplies
• Adhere to cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices), safety standards and policies to maintain a safe working environment

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of automation systems, including process control, instrumentation, and servo-driven systems with ladder logic
• Proficiency in calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment
• Ability to prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks effectively around production activities
• Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in using hand and power tools for maintenance and repairs
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail, especially in ensuring quality standards
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for reporting issues and collaborating with team members
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Familiarity with cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment
• Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and processes in automation and mechanical systems
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Vocational/Trade training or an Associate's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field, is preferred
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with hands-on experience in automation and mechanical systems required
