Assistant Controller

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee financial statement integrity
• Direct the monthly financial close process
• Conduct thorough financial analyses
• Oversee budget preparation and monitor budget variances
• Establish robust internal controls
• Mentor and develop the accounting team
• Optimize accounting processes and systems
• Act as the primary point of contact for financial information
• Facilitate external audits
• Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Monitor regulatory compliance
• Collaborate with other departments
• Develop financial policies and procedures
• Ensure timely and accurate account reconciliation

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in the cannabis or related industry
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced Excel skills
• Desire to learn SQL/BI
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Experience with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, Netsuite, or Acumatica
