Assistant Controller

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee Financial Statement Integrity
• Direct the monthly financial close process
• Conduct thorough financial analyses
• Oversee budget preparation and monitor budget variances
• Establish robust internal controls
• Mentor and develop the accounting team
• Optimize accounting processes and systems
• Act as the primary point of contact for financial information
• Facilitate external audits
• Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate their impact
• Stay abreast of changes in financial regulations and ensure organizational compliance
• Collaborate with other departments to align financial strategies with organizational goals

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in the cannabis or related industry
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced Excel skills
• Desire to learn SQL/BI
• Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build collaborative relationships
• Experience with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, Netsuite, or Acumatica
