Armed Security Officer - MI

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Secure the designated station with attention, discipline, and professionalism
• Conduct routine patrols of the facility's perimeter and checkpoints
• Monitor and maintain surveillance systems (CCTV), ensuring they function properly
• Verify the identity of visitors, guests, and employees, managing access points to the facility
• Respond promptly to security incidents and report any suspicious activity or breaches
• Ensure all firearms are handled safely and legally, adhering to company and Michigan state guidelines

Requirements

• Strong skills in conflict resolution, de-escalation techniques, and crowd control
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations
• Must be at least 21 years old, as required by Michigan state law for armed positions
• Valid Concealed Pistol License (CPL) required to carry a firearm while on duty in Michigan
• Completion of an approved firearms training course (classroom instruction and range practice)
• First Aid/CPR certification is preferred but not required
• High School Diploma or GED required
• 2+ years of experience in armed security, law enforcement, or military service required
