Job description
We are looking for a VP of Sales for the state of California who is a strategic sales professional with a solid track record of growth. The VP of Sales will be charged with developing growth strategies and tactics to help our teams expand CannaCraft's brand market share and revenue.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- The Sales VP will be responsible for growing CannaCraft’s brand market share and revenue by:
- Leading, directing the work of, and developing talent on CannaCraft’s sales teams
- Planning and executing growth strategies, with priority on ROI
- Cultivating strong relationships with customers throughout the state of California to build CannaCraft brand share in store.
Managing the Team
- Set goals and coach account executives to achieve planned targets
- Develop the sales team through frequent in-field coaching, focused direction, and sharing of best practices among the team members. Coach team in developing relationships with key decision-makers at dispensaries and negotiating effectively to enable wins for both the organization and business partners
- Strategically plan account coverage - Ensuring all territories are staffed with an effective sales professional, and are assigned the right number of accounts, volume level, and geography. Recruit, select, hire, train as needed.
- Drive a high-performance culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Planning
- Communicate market conditions and needs to the marketing team to ensure our programs and plans are competitive, focused, and successful.
- Contributes strategic direction and thought leadership to the organization, with a strong understanding of the brand, market and customer needs, as well as anticipating future needs and downstream impacts
- Actively participate in strategic planning meetings to help drive the process that results in a successful strategy.
- Work cross-functionally to plan and execute growth strategies
- Develop and implement a strategic account coverage plan that ensures we focus commensurate resources on highest potential customers and best return activities.
- Ensure that administrative duties are met continually, including: SOPs, CRM usage, AR processes, and deadlines.
- Understand customer needs and develop the proper plan for each major market to cover the right accounts with either internal or external resources.
Relationships
Build strong customer relationships to help gain support for our brands, products, programs and people. Regularly make account visits with Account Executives to help build our presence.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Accountability for achieving results; high integrity and reliability.
- Proven ability to build and lead a successful sales team with continuous improvement through coaching/development and sharing of best practices.
- Strong financial and analytical skills, prior experience developing and managing a budget required
- Strategic and analytical skills to understand and use sales data, internal sales information, CRM, and external competitive intelligence to build a winning approach for the regional sales team and CC internally
- Ability to communicate in a clear and effective manner, providing encouragement, coaching, and reprimand when necessary to build and continue elevating sales teams.
- Demonstrated personal initiative, effective planning, and organization skills.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- The ability to travel 50%-80% is required for this position. Expected field travel a minimum of 12 days a month.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years leading high-performing sales teams
- 3+ years experience in cannabis sales
- Compensation will be structured to include base salary plus commission. Comprehensive medical, dental, vision benefits are offered after 60 days of full-time employment and PTO after 90 days of full-time employment..
