Job description
Kiva's Finance and Accounting team is hiring an exceptional Staff Accountant to help take our organization to new heights! If you are passionate about making an impact in an emerging industry this could be the opportunity for you!
As Staff Accountant you will:
- Reconcile 5 bank accounts weekly, verify deposits, clear outstanding checks, addresses mismatched items and prepare journal entries for reconciling items
- Prepare monthly AP accruals and assist AP in month-end closeInspect GL accounts for accuracy and explain month - over - month variancesPrepare monthly GL reconciliations according to month-end close checklist
- Review and reconcile inter-company accounts on a monthly basis
- Prepare and file excise tax, sales and use tax, and other locality returns as needed
- Assist in annual audit by providing necessary supporting documents and reconciliations to external auditors
- Prepare and reconcile distribution partner reimbursements monthly
- Assist in expansion partner monthly billings
- Maintain and update accounting procedures and policies as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance required
- Must have at least 2 years experience in general accounting or related field
- Must be proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel) and Google Suite
- Solid understanding of GAAP accounting
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize work is required
- Must display strong interpersonal and (written/verbal) communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills required
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Strong understanding of US tax regulations
