Job description
As the Staff Accountant at Amuse, you will be responsible for assisting and supporting the Director of Accounting and our Finance team with daily tasks such as accounts payables & cash management, facilitating month-end and year-end close, and ad-hoc projects. This is a fast-paced environment with complexities to reviewing & understanding accounting within our industry. It is important that you understand accounting principles and can flex your accounting knowledge to assist in the scaling of our business. This role will report directly to the Director of Accounting. This is a Hybrid position that would also report to our Culver City office.

Responsibilities
- Supports all functions of the team, including Accounts Payables, journal entries, check runs, reconciliations, month-end close, cash management, and reporting
- Performs monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial close processes, including account analysis, account reconciliations, and preparing journal entries
- Duties include preparing journal entries and coding invoices/vouchers
- Prepares specific financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information. Proposes and prepares any adjusting entries necessary resulting from reconciliations
- Assists internal teams by researching questions, investigating variances on the financial statements, and collaborating on related projects
- Maintains internal control environment while also partnering with accounting & finance team members for process improvement
- Review actual expenditures against budgets
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business-related field, Master’s Degree or CPA certification preferred
- Minimum 2-3 years experience of Accounting/Bookkeeping experience
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office required
- Proficient in QuickBooks online & Sage Intacct, a bonus
- Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and able to work independently or among teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, non-verbal, written), with the ability to build relationships internally & externally
- Adapts and thrives in a demanding, start-up, fast-paced environment
- Possesses a high-level of critical thinking, keen judgment, resourcefulness, professionalism & integrity
