The Shift Supervisor (SS) is responsible for the execution of daily tasks and activities to ensure operations are consistent with company goals and objectives. The SS will directly train the Depot Staff so all positions function as designed and create operational consistency from day to day. They will coordinate with Depot Staff, Drivers, Dispatch, and Customer Support to troubleshoot customer service/delivery issues. They will oversee: Depot Staff lunch schedules, logging critical incidents, communicating issues to the management team, and monitor driver and depot staff productivity. They will also perform other operational duties as directed by the Depot Manager (DM). The SS’s will report directly to the DM. Responsibilities include:
DAILY OPERATIONS: Oversee the smooth execution of daily operations. Ensure work stations are properly set up and staffed. Provide relief coverage for operational duties when Depot Staff is on break/lunch. Responsible for closing procedures.
DOCUMENTATION/COMMUNICATION: Document and communicate incidents that concern depot operations and Driver/Depot Staff performance such as: tardiness, missed shifts, inconsistent inventory numbers, substandard or exemplary behavior/work effort, delivery issues, and depot infrastructure (leaks, printers, internet, etc).
STAFF TRAINING: Ensure Depot Staff/Drivers are trained, competent and consistent in execution of their responsibilities. Create understanding of how staff work relates to the operation.
