Job description
We are looking for a Research Data Assistant to record, input and manage trial data at our greenhouse facilities in Carpinteria. The perfect candidate is not only passionate and knowledgeable about commercial cannabis production, but also proficient with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
Generally, the Research Data Assistant will be responsible for recording/collecting, inputting, and managing propagation, cultivation, and harvest data for internal R&D trials. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Participate in breeding and greenhouse R&D trials, including: cross pollination, self-pollination, pollen production, propagation, transplanting, producing and harvesting flower/seeds.
- Collect, input, and manage phenotypic data across propagation, cultivation, and harvest processes in a Spanish-speaking environment.
- Create labels to properly track movement of all plants.
- Other tasks as assigned by Manager.
Skills & Requirements:
- Strong computer skills and an ability to learn new software.
- Experience with worksheet creation and data entry in Excel and Google Sheets.
- Ability to operate within a tightly controlled track and trace environment.
- Positive attitude, remains calm under pressure.
- Multitasker.
- Reliable transportation.
- Passes Livescan background check (no felonies).
- No recreational cannabis-use or other substance abuse is tolerated during work hours.
- Must be 21+ years of age.
- Must have legal working status.
- Bilingual (Spanish) communication skills are a plus.
- Team Player: Proven ability to work cooperatively with team members at all levels.
Accountability: Establishes clear expectations for self and others to achieve stated goals and objectives. Sets regular review and oversight procedures against a plan and gives regular feedback to ensure system and record accuracy.
Experience: Demonstrated expertise in their field.
