Job description
This role will be responsible for assisting Purchasing Buyers and Managers with purchasing data. The ideal candidate for this role will have interpersonal communication skills to make initial contact with vendors, gather pricing, availability, and delivery information, and make recommendations on deals based on that data. The best candidate for this role is highly motivated, a self-starter, with great interpersonal skills who will enjoy working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Investigate and develop supplier relationship to gather important data, such as price, availability, and delivery schedules for the purchasing team.
- With assistance from the buyers and manager, review bid proposals and negotiate contacts.
- Maintain and manipulate complex reports from other departments, such as cultivation, production/operations, and SIOP, to accurately provide buyers and managers with real-time inventory levels and estimated sales volume.
- Communicate directly with internal and external customers to seek the lowest cost providers, availability, and remove delay in the supply chain.
- Assist the purchasing team in the day to day operations to ensure all tasks are completed on time.
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be 21 Years or older and be able to pass a 10-year criminal background check
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
- 1 to 3 years of data entry experience and display high speed and accuracy of input
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and Word, PPT, with strong math skills
- Excellent analytical problem-solver with ability to quickly learn and master new skills
- Strong planning, scheduling, time management and project management
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work effectively and accurately under tight deadlines
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, motivated, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent communication skills to work with both internal and external customers to build interpersonal relationships
