Job description
Dutchie is seeking a Compliance Analyst to support our growing payments compliance program. Dutchie’s payments compliance spans across regulatory requirements, payment network regulations, and bank partner rules.
The Compliance Analyst will be initially focused on daily transaction monitoring, ensuring Dutchie’s payment platform is not used to facilitate financial crimes. Using a combination of analysis tools and data, the Analyst will look for unusual or fraudulent activity and take necessary actions that may include escalating qualifying activity to bank partners for Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR), working with internal stakeholders to remediate the concerns, or recommending other adverse action such as closing or blocking known fraudulent or suspicious accounts. The Analyst will also assist in underwriting new merchant applications and routinely complete Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance reviews in alignment with AML, bank partner, and payment network rules. In addition to merchant onboarding, this person will assist in the completion of periodic compliance reviews of merchants as needed.

What You’ll Do...
- Run daily queries and analyze account activity to identify fraud or compliance risks and escalate or take corrective action as needed.
- Underwrite new merchants that sign up for payment products, ensuring KYC elements are verified, reviewing financials, reputational risks, and setting appropriate transaction limits.
- Assist in conducting periodic reviews of existing merchants, taking a holistic approach that includes monitoring disputes, assessing reputational risk, and escalating payments compliance concerns to management.
- Actively participate in cross-functional meetings and serve as a compliance resource for internal stakeholders to escalate unusual activity or fraudulent accounts.
- Assist in annual audits and other compliance functions as needed.
- Observe (and bring to management’s attention), instances of existing fraud rules falsely alerting (or missing) to strengthen controls on an ongoing basis.
- Work closely with the ACH Operations and Implementations team, staying aligned on strategy.
What You Bring..
- 2+ years in a compliance, risk, or fraud operations role within the merchant services space either for a payment processor, acquiring bank, or Independent Sales Organization (ISO).
- Experience with ACH is a plus, but not required.
- Strong foundational understanding of anti-money laundering (AML) concepts (i.e. CIP/KYC, OFAC, SAR escalations).
- Experience working within the confines of bank, payment network, and regulatory rules and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable running meetings as needed.
- Flexible and able to manage multiple assignments while working independently.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing regulations and rules.
