Job description
The ideal candidate is detail oriented with prior experience in cannabis propagation and must be familiar with cloning techniques, watering plants by hand, and Mother plant care. Nursery Lead works side-by-side with technicians to delegate daily tasks and oversee that all tasks are completed on-time and in accordance with SOPs and leadership expectations. The Nursery Lead will be reporting to the Cultivation Manager for daily tasks.
Responsibilities include:
Daily task delegation
Firm understanding of all department processes and procedures
Day to day workflow organization and planning
Training and managing work flow of Nursery Technicians
Monitor Productivity/Performance & provide employee feedback
Meet Performance Goals set by Cultivation Manager and Cultivation Director
Oversee all major cultivation tasks (clone, transplant, room fills, etc.)
Minor/Intermediate METRC Movements (I.e. movement from one room or license to another)
Pest/Pathogen/Health Scouting
AM/PM Open and closing duties of facility and department
Transplanting rooted clones into coco
Topping and pruning vegetative plants
Taking cuttings from Mother plants and sticking cuttings into rockwool
Pruning Mother plants according to cultivar and cloning needs
Preparing grow media for clones and/or transplants
Mixing and applying biostimulants/pesticides via foliar sprays and drenches
Releases beneficial/predatory insects
Irrigating by hand according to plants size and needs
Following strict biosecurity protocols, maintaining sanitation of tools and person
Working at a fast pace under warm and humid conditions - vegetative rooms average 75+ degrees and 65% relative humidity
Cleaning tables, mopping floors, and filling footbaths with sanitation solution
Standing/squatting/bending with arms extended for long periods of time
Affixing METRC tags to plant lots and individual plants
Scouting for and reporting any pests and pathogens (powdery mildew, botrytis)
Any other task assigned by the Cultivation Manager or Director of Cultivation
Pay range: $52,000 salary
Benefit package includes medical, dental, vision, Life/AD&D, paid time off, and holidays
Requirements:
Must have MED Employee License
2+ years of experience in Nursery Technician or similar role
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Capable of working independently
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
Nursery Leads will be required to learn how different cultivars/strains grow, and how to identify a variety of pests/pathogens. This is a labor-intensive position that requires good critical thinking skills and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing tasks.
