Job description

We are seeking a strategic, creative, and growth-oriented Marketing Director to scale the company’s expanding product and brand portfolio; Kingpen/King Roll, Loudpack, Fuzzies, Smokiez, Dime Bag and Sublime. This position will be responsible for overseeing a comprehensive and integrated marketing, communications, retail marketing and digital strategy across owned and earned channels, which include wholesale distribution to in California. This position will also forge strong cross-functional relationships and leverage data-driven insights to positively impact the consumer and customer journey at all touch points to drive company-wide revenue growth and an omnichannel future.

The successful candidate will possess an entrepreneurial drive, cognitive agility, and business acumen across organizational functions. The ideal candidate will be skilled at leveraging both the analytical and creative aspects of consumer and retail-centric marketing, will have a P&L mindset, will be drawn to the fluidity and pace of a high-growth enterprise, and will have a track record of building consumer brands in a relevant industry vertical.

Operating remotely and on-site in Los Angeles, the Marketing Director will report to the VP of Marketing, and will collaborate with other members of the Sales, Digital, Creative, R&D, Production and Procurement teams on matters of strategic planning, financial management, product innovation, sales, and operations.

Responsibilities · Collaborate with the Sales Teams on customer-driven campaigns, lead generation, and the delivery of engaging collateral and content to drive growth. · Oversee the design and delivery of integrated marketing campaigns and promotions across channels to drive B2B and B2C customer acquisition, education and retention. · Strategically monitor marketing spend to maximize ROI, contribute to the planning and development of marketing budgets and forecasts, and share responsibility to build and optimize brand P&L’s. · Lead product marketing efforts, working cross-functionally on product positioning, packaging, pricing, and promotion. · Explore future DTC ecommerce sales and enterprise-wide digital marketing initiatives. · Serve as the customer experience leader and work cross-functionally to align the organization’s customer-facing functions including sales, research, commerce, and customer care. · Organize and mine customer data and market research for insights into consumer needs and behaviors to fuel innovation and growth. · Manage the brand architecture, strategy and positioning to enhance the brand identities, drive positive brand image, and promote brand presence and preference. · Oversee the design and delivery of a comprehensive and ongoing communications, media, partnership marketing, and public relations strategy with cohesive messaging and a compelling narrative across channels. · Leverage consumer insights on buying behaviors and preferences to inform the product innovation timeline to recommend opportunity gaps and launch new categories.

Qualifications · 8+ years of marketing leadership experience in positions of increasing responsibility · A track record of success in a relevant consumer products industry · Experience leading brands with retail marketing programs · Previous experience with full or partial P&L responsibility and ROI metrics · Bachelor’s degree required
