Job description

The ideal candidate for the HERBL Loss Prevention Specialist position has a natural ability to communicate easily with customers, employees, and partners. Loss Prevention staff serve as Security Ambassadors for HERBL and as such, they must portray a highly professional demeanor, demonstrate excellent judgement, and deliver best in class support.

You will be responsible for handling emergencies; monitoring safety and security of the HERBL campus; generating reports; reviewing video; answering digital intercom; detecting internal and external theft, conducting audits, fielding phone calls and a variety of other Security and Investigation tasks. As such, any candidate must have operator level proficiency with access control, alarm, Ops Center, and CCTV systems. Operators must be able to communicate clearly in both written and spoken English. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Manage all access control requests to include activation and deactivation of profiles, issuing parking passes and temp visitor access
• Monitor building/fire alarms and panic alarm activation to ensure proper response and/or dispatching along with Police liaison
• Monitor physical security systems and respond/coordinate response to safety and security issues on campus and for drivers on delivery routes
• Facilitate and coordinate information exchange during all emergencies or vehicle accidents working closely with the routing and dispatch team members
• Perform various administrative tasks as assigned or directed; to include assisting with security projects, assign access control badges, in person calls for service, and other security activities.
• Assist in internal/external investigations
• Conduct regular Loss Prevention safety and security audits for compliance and visibility related to potentially critical incidents, preventative standards, and programs.
• Maintain accurate records and reports of all identified theft activity and related follow up; disseminate and communicate reporting as necessary.
• Train HERBL employees on best security practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required communicate effectively with a variety of audiences. This role requires the employee to sit at a security desk using a computer and monitors for very long periods. This position is primarily performed in an onsite professional office environment and must occasionally move equipment or supplies up to 20 lbs. Shift hours fluctuating during business hours usually occurring Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• At least (2) years of Loss Prevention experience, experience in Distribution Center and Warehouse Loss Prevention environments preferred.
• At least one (1) year experience working with security access control systems, SOC or GSOC postings a plus.
• Demonstrated aptitude of Windows, MS Office, and/or similar basic software.
• Experience managing EHS elements and audits, including maintaining MSDS Sheets, BBP Kits, and AED checks.
• Familiarity with access control and alarm monitoring systems and panels.
• Knowledge of physical security, building, and fire equipment/monitoring systems.
• Ability to provide clear and concise information to a variety of constituents using multiple electronic systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Work well under pressure, ability to multi-task and adapt to changing conditions, urgent matters, and emergencies.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team to accomplish an objective.
• Intermediate communications experience on IP Telephone systems with customers.
• Must be able to cooperate and work independently with and/or part of a team with fellow employees, customers, and guests.
• Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.
• Cannabis Security/LP experience a plus
• High-value asset Security/LP experience preferred.
