Job description
Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, the Lead Packaging Operator is responsible for ensuring the packaging team is utilizing company methods and procedures to ensure the proper packaging of cannabis products. The Lead Packaging Operator is expected to operate under the highest standards of compliance, professionalism, and accuracy.
What you’ll do:
- Lead a team of extract filling operators
- Plan and coordinate production tasks on a daily basis
- Maintain organization of production hardware
- Verify production hardware for daily/weekly production
- Follow all manufacturing and packaging Standard Operating Procedures
- Set up and complete all batch filling paperwork
- Add production details to tracking spreadsheets
- Monitor and correct all quality issues as they arise
- Audit operator’s work every 30 minutes throughout the shift
- Ensure adherence to all safety requirements throughout shift
- Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of machinery, equipment, work surfaces, and tools
- Perform other duties/responsibilities as necessary or assigned
What you’ll need:
- Experience with cartridge or concentrate filling preferred
- 2+ years experience in packaging, warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred
- The ability to adapt to changes, delays or unexpected events in the work environment
- Strong time management skills
- Experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment required
- Excellent attention to detail is required. You can balance the accuracy of your work with productivity.
- Punctuality & Attendance: You show up on time in a consistent and reliable manner
- Be highly organized, clean, and efficient.
- Basic math skills required
- Basic spreadsheet skills are required
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Ability to stand, crouch, lift, push and pull items and equipment of 35+ lbs. and sizes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High School diploma or GED required
- Must be 21 years of age
Physical Demands:
- Must possess the physical aptitude necessary to perform manual labor tasks required including sitting or standing for long periods.
- Must have excellent manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive movements, pull/push, grasp and carry 35+ pounds
