Job description

The IT Manager, Enterprise Data is responsible for the daily operation and administration of our SQL database and business intelligence / reporting environment. This includes the design, creation, and implementation of database solutions while maintaining the integrity and security of our SQL database systems.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES

• Supports Azure-based SQL Server in development, test, and production environment.
• Monitors production servers and jobs daily.
• Performs scheduled maintenance, promoting code to test and production environments.
• Installs updates as needed.
• Analyzes database issues and resolve appropriately.
• Participates in the architecture and design of database architecture.
• Develops data models and design specifications.
• Meets with the user community to determine information requirements and translate into technical
• Designs and creates ETL processes.
• Develops and integrates new data from a variety of sources.
• Manages database systems, including mission critical databases which require 24x7 business operational support.
• Responsible for development support, SQL design reviews, database tuning, and data security.
• Acts as coordinator for database projects to ensure the appropriate database design, performance profile, and security controls are in place.
• Develops and implements database engineering best practices.
• Evaluates new database related technologies and assesses their application in a company environment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Data Science.
• Minimum five years SQL DBA experience.
• Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and specific experience with the following:
• SQL Server installation, patching, and upgrades
• Maintaining large databases and transactional replication of large amounts of data
• Database backup/restore including copying databases from production to test severs
• Good working knowledge of database security concepts
• Familiarity with SQL Server Profiler, and Windows Performance Monitor
• SQL Server cluster support
• SQL Server Reporting Services support and report deployment
• SQL Server Integration Services package deployment
• SQL Server Analysis Services support
• Knowledge of Ignite monitoring software
• Reasonable understanding of MS SQL server licensing.
• Knowledge of Virtual Technology and optimization of databases in a VM environment.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills; ability to analyze complex technical problems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, multi-task, and adapt easily to shifting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional service focus including attention to producing quality results with a willingness to work
• towards the overall success of a project.
• Ability to interact professionally with all team members and guests.
• Must be available 24 hours/day for on call support if necessary.
