Job description
Bud's Goods & Provisions is seeking a Human Resources Manager for our award-winning team. This position recruits and hires our talent and manages the compliance of their employment at Bud's Goods. As Bud's Human Resources Manager you will report directly to the CEO. You will work to build a diverse team and ensure their experience with the administrative side of the company is a pleasurable one. You will manage the payroll and benefit packages. You will manage the agent registrations and employment related communications with the cannabis control commission. Bud's Goods is growing company, rooted locally. Job Duties
- Ensure compliance of all federal, state, and local employment laws
- Keep current the company's employee handbook as laws and company polices evolve. Confirm each employee acknowledges they have read the updates
- Manage all job postings including Bud's Goods' website, local ads, DiversityJobs.com, Indeed, and LinkedIn
- Schedule, plan and attend recruitment events both off site as well as at Bud's Goods locations
- Schedule and perform applicant interviews with the coordination of other managers
- Prepare and administer job offer letters and any employment contracts
- Perform the on-boarding task list for all new employees including background checks, agent registrations, and tax filing documents
- Perform the separation task list for all exiting employees including the surrender of employee's agent registration with the Cannabis Control Commission MassCIP
- Coordinate management trainings as required by law or suggested by the attorney or the Leadership Team. Examples include: anti-harassment, bullying, etc.
- As applicable, provide new employees with computer, email address, and access to company software licenses
- Schedule and keep current Responsible Vendor Training for every employee
- Manage and use implemented HR software to store essential employee information, generate company reports, recruit applicants, and manage health plan enrollment
- Process payroll and problem solve any employee payroll concerns. Validate all Paid Time Off requests. Manage any garnishments necessary for payroll
- Manage the company sponsored health insurance plan and other employee benefits
- Manage the Paid Family Medical Leave requirements of the state and federal government
- Address any employment relations issues, such as work complaints and harassment allegations and COVID situations
- Administer and monitor the company's health and safety programs
- Oversee investigations into accidents and prepare reports for insurance carriers
- Coordinate and schedule CPR/First Aid Trainings
- Implement, track, and report on the company's diversity plan. This includes administering surveys, tracking hiring statistics, and scheduling meetings and action plans if company is failing in diversity efforts
- Ensure site managers are having one on one time with each and every employee on a regular basis. Gather employee feedback from the managers
- Be present when separating with an employee as available or requested by the Leadership Team
- Oversee the compliant storage, analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies. This includes the Cannabis Control Commission regulations on recordkeeping procedures. Assist the managers with keeping files both current and compliant
- If ever necessary, write and deliver presentations to corporate officers or government officials regarding human resources policies and practices of the Company
- Represent the company at any employee related legal hearings
- Manage the budget of human resources operations.
- Assist with company newsletter
- Ensure the Company is compliant with regard to ADA laws for reasonable accommodations due to disability
- Stay current on data relevant to our recruitment efforts including workforce availability and demographics, status of hiring by other cannabis companies, tracking salary and benefit benchmarks
- Work in parallel with retail managers to constantly be aware of labor needs to fill
- Travel to Bud's Goods & Provisions dispensaries in Abington and Watertown - 30%
- Bud's offers availability to work in Abington or Watertown office up to 50% of time if desired

Experience
5 Years of Human Resources experience, Bachelor's Degree or work equivalent
