Job description

Paid Internship Candidates will work a full-time schedule (40 hours per week) Work will be performed remotely, based on the business area where the student is working. A company-owned laptop will be provided for the duration of the internship program.
About the Job: As a human resources intern, you will collaborate with our human resources team for your assignments and your contribution will be to help develop, expand, and maintain our HR policies and procedures. This internship will help you acquire real-world skills and provide you with exposure to payroll processes; various people management and recruitment strategies. You will gain broad experience in human resources in a relatively new and highly-regulated industry.
- Regular duties and responsibilities for human resources interns includes generating and analyzing reports, taking notes during meetings, preparing statements, entering new hire information, screening résumés, scheduling interviews, and assisting with staff recruitment campaigns. The human resources intern might also complete administrative work while observing different aspects of the human resources department.
- Update our internal databases with new employee information, including contact details and employment forms
- Gather payroll data like leaves, working hours and bank accounts
- Screen resumes and application forms
- Gather employee demographic information
- Schedule and confirm interviews with candidates
- Post, update and remove job ads from job boards, careers pages and social networks
- Prepare HR-related reports as needed (like training budgets by department)
- Address employee queries about benefits (like number of remaining vacation days)
- Review and distribute company policies in digital formats or hard copies
- Participate in organizing company events and careers days
- Physical Requirements of the Job: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, lifting, walking, standing, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. May include walking or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over and/or crouching. Ability to tolerate moderate to loud exposure to noise level. Exposure to long periods of bright lights. Long periods of prolonged use of office equipment including computers and phones.
About You:
General
Regulations require that incumbent be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain and maintain state marijuana work credentials.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Enrolled in HR Management or similar degree or program at Bachelor’s or Associate Degree level
- Strong desire to learn along with professional drive.
- Familiarity with HRIS, ATS & résumé databases (basic understanding of what they are)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (ability to draft an email, an article/essay, use spelling and grammar checking tools)
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (have used applications or taken course(s) to learn create Excel spreadsheets and perform analysis and calculations, Office documents, PowerPoint presentations, Access Databases)
- Basic knowledge of labor legislation and EEOC issues
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Flexible in work hours and work locations
- Able to work remotely
- Skillful in handling multiple, changing priorities
- Proficient in strong interpersonal and communication skills
