Job description
The Driver Lead Specialist is responsible for maintaining a complete understanding of Nabis’ distribution operations and the ability to execute all driving policies successfully. A Driver Lead Specialist has a proven track record of excellent customer service, being an ultimate team player with the right attitude, and embodies the Nabis core values. This candidate should be able to adapt as standard processes evolve without complaint or missteps. The ideal candidate will be an asset to the driving team as an additional point-of-contact when clarifications on specific driving policies are needed. This candidate has proved to be a leader, actively driving Nabis’ culture.
The Driver Lead Specialist will work closely with the Dispatch Operations Manager(s) to uphold the core values and support the Delivery Specialist team in any way outlined by management. They are responsible to oversee the success of the driver team at each hub and assist in training each new hire, as well as continued training for tenured delivery specialists. This is not a remote position; the Driver Lead Specialist must be present for work each day scheduled. This person must be trustworthy, able to pass a background screening and must also be at least 21 years of age or older.
Responsibilities:
Lead and champion driver training.
- Represent the interests of drivers in the process of constructing new training processes and policies.
- Identify new areas of training that would support driver success.
- Train newly hired drivers, provide retraining as needed.
- Ensure teams are adhering to Nabis policies and procedures.
- Support drivers’ needs.
- Work with the Drivers to ensure all vehicles are clean at the end of shift.
- Support drivers during morning launch with staging, counting, loading boxes into vans. Ensuring that all drivers are set-up for a successful day.
- Be a champion of safety and security policies and procedures.
- Be a voice for drivers.
- Work closely with the Distribution/Dispatch Operations Manager(s) to come up with effective and streamlined solutions to issues that may arise during a driving shift.
- Review proposed process changes to the safety and needs of drivers are adequately considered in new protocol prior to roll-out.
- Help keep the driving team engaged, encouraging Nabis core values and open lines of communication to boost morale.
Requirements:
- 1+ year of proven experience as a customer-facing delivery specialist in the cannabis field or equivalent position
- Excellent leadership abilities
- Outstanding communication and people skills
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift at least 50lbs, work while bending and lifting throughout the day
- Adhere to an ever-changing schedule and task list
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid physical driver's license
