Under the umbrella of Acreage Holdings, The Botanist is seeking a full time Cannabis Cultivation Manager for our production facility in Sterling, MA. Summary: The Cultivation Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the cannabis crop cultivation at the production facility through successful coaching and development of the cultivation team. The successful candidate will possess a passion for horticulture, excellent interpersonal skills, experience leading others and strong cannabis knowledge with a willingness to continually learn more about the subject.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of the Cultivation Manager are to manage a wide range of large- scale cultivation, with emphasis on coordinating, timing, scheduling and supervising the crop cultivation processes. The Cultivation Manager will ensure a collaborative work environment through workload planning, delegation and cross training team members for efficiency and development.. Establish, refine and improve overall crop quality as determined by date driven results to ensure the ability to grow and prepare the highest quality cannabis.
Operational Duties:
Carries out the crop cultivation Standard Operating Procedures (“SOP”) and protocols including, but not limited to:
Propagation
Crop care
Plant nutrition
Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program
Harvest
Drying
Effectively leads and manages the cultivation team to realize high quality product results, efficient work flows and motivated staff including, but is not limited to:
Team leadership
Technical guidance
Staff scheduling
Performance reviews
Manages the crop growth environment by keeping all growth facility systems in good working order and keeping the necessary horticultural supplies on hand to optimize the health and productivity of the crop. This includes, but is not limited to:
Monitoring system performance and identifying issues with lights, gas exchange, hydrology, temperature and humidity
Monitoring systems maintenance programs
Working with the Security and Facilities teams to keep systems in good working order and scheduling repairs in a timely fashion
Managing the timely availability of horticultural supplies
Administrative Duties:
Works closely with Director, Plant Operations to implement Company goals
Assists Director, Plant Operations with strategy, approvals, and crop management protocols
Issues periodic inventory and production progress reports
Creates work schedules, cultivation logistics, goals and objectives
Assists in hiring of cultivation staff members
Trains, supervises, evaluates and develops cultivation staff members
Interfaces with other teams as necessary
Partners with Human Resources as necessary to ensure positive productive work environment
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent experience
Associate degree in horticulture, agriculture, biology, chemistry, botany or related field preferred
Minimum 2 years of experience in cannabis cultivation required
Minimum 4 years of experience in a project management or supervisory role required
Knowledge of computer and office equipment and programs (Seed to sale, inventory systems; MS Office Suite programs)
Extensive math and analytical skills required for inventory, data analysis, projections, measurements, calculations
Principles and practices related to the indoor cultivation of cannabis
Strains and their effects, biology and chemistry of medical marijuana
