Job description
The Copywriter is responsible for supporting the Creative, Product, Marketing, and Retail teams in curating clear and concise copy for a variety of media including but not limited to website, email and text campaigns, blog posts, video scripts, digital and print ads, social platforms, packaging, and media alerts. This role will be an integral part of a cross-functional team and requires a professional and positive demeanor and ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with leadership at every level in a fast paced, dynamic environment. High energy and positive attitude are a must.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Write compelling copy for website, email, text, blog, video content, digital and print ads, social media, packaging, press releases, media alerts, etc
- Edit and proof work to ensure high editorial standards are met across all content outputs
- Collaborate with creative, product, marketing, and retail to assess project needs and help with messaging
- Drive brand consistency across all company communications
- Develop and implement brand voice and tone informed by the SKYMINT brand book
- Use data-driven marketing to guide all copy decisions
- Maintain strong working knowledge of product features and benefits
- Partner with creative team to establish seasonal taglines
- Support creation of brand books for all in-house brands
- Partner with the creative team to develop tone and voice for new product development
- Provide product descriptions, romance copy, taglines, and one-pagers for all new products
- Stay current on trends and competitors within the editorial spere
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of copywriting experience in an agency or related field
- Passion for creative writing and digital-first thinking
- Knowledge of online content strategy and creation
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Experience with SEO
- Strong research skills
- Organized and deadline-driven with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Highly creative entrepreneurial mindset
- In tune with social trends and emerging techniques for storytelling and brand expression
- Degree in Marketing, English, Journalism, or related field preferred
- Cannabis experience is a plus
- Must provide a portfolio
