A Budtender is responsible for helping customers and patients find the right products that fit their needs, while at the same time safeguarding company assets. This is a very customer-oriented position that requires a lot of interaction with a diverse group of people, and the ability to handle a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail while adhering to company policy and state law.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to obtain a Industry badge through the Medical Marijuana Enforcement Division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES:
Execute LightShade selling standards to meet team and individual sales goals and metrics
Responsible for driving sales and customer experience by maintaining a tidy, safe, and well-merchandised store environment
Ensure the sales floor is properly stocked and the presence of the store is well maintained
Model best-in-class service experience that consistently exceeds our customer’s expectations
Inspire customer confidence and create loyalty to our service
Promote a work environment that is positive, customer-service oriented, and compliant with established policies and procedures
Accountable for accurately utilizing LightShade Labs Point of Sale system
Offer customers the complete solution (i.e. concentrates and a vape pen. or shake and the magic butter machine).
Utilize MJ Freeway to process orders.
Daily opening and closing duties. (See daily checklist)
Updating Weed Maps Menu.
Identify marketing opportunities to forward to Social Media.
The engaging customer immediately upon entering the dispensary.
Maintain accurate tendering of change and monies.
Verify Till at $300 in the morning and at the end of every shift.
Perform nightly drops on assigned till.
Maintain cleanliness of not only the selling bays but the store as a whole. This includes restrooms, break areas, reception areas, and parking lot.
Communicate with Store Management/Supervisors immediately about challenges. Do not assume that “someone else” has already done it.
Other duties as assigned by the Management Team.
Verify the ID of every customer every time. We perform a second check of ID’s to make sure that no one has “slipped” into the dispensary to illegally purchase.
Verify identification for valid AGE and EXPIRATION. No vertical Colorado ID’s can be accepted.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS and/or ABILITIES:
Exceptional customer service skills
Desire to learn about our products in order to assist customers
Knowledge of basic computer skills, Point of Sale software and cash management
Fun attitude and strong work ethic
Strong attention to detail and must have a team-player mentality
Ability to creatively cultivate long- term customer relationships

Must be able to accommodate scheduling expectations including weekend, evening, and holiday shifts and store location movement
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS:
This position has no Supervisory duties.
GUIDELINES:
Guidelines include the personnel and operational manuals; state, local and federal laws, regulations and ordinances. Guidelines are received from Compliance manual, SOP’s and employee handbook.
COMPLEXITY:
Work involves reading, analyzing and interpreting complex documents including technical procedures and governmental regulations.
SCOPE AND EFFECT:
The purpose of the work is to maintain compliance with all applicable local, state and federal laws; Employees may need to maneuver through the myriad of regulations that may apply; and assist customers and other employees at all levels to obtain necessary services and benefits.
PERSONAL CONTACTS:
This position requires continuous contact with numerous staff and vendors and customers to successfully accomplish the duties of the position on a daily basis.This contact includes employees, managers, Owners, the public, medical clients, and contractors for services.
PURPOSE OF CONTACTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate professionally in person, over the telephone, through email and other electronic means, move about the office and company, handle various types of media and equipment, and visually or otherwise identify, observe and assess.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds unless otherwise specified.The position also includes standing for long periods of time, climbing ladders, reaching up, bending, walking about in a small space.

BENEFITS:
For all full-time employees, the employer will pay $250.00 towards Employee Health Insurance, Dental insurance in which the employer will pay half of the employee cost, employee pays for Vision and Aflac. These benefits are available after 60 days. Company pays for Life at 1 x your annual salary and Short-Term Disability. We offer a 401k program, with a 6% match after 90 days. Employees will also receive vacation time after three years of service and sick time as designed by Colorado law.
All new employees will serve a 90-day probationary period to enable the Department Supervisor to determine their suitability as an employee.
